Much has been said about cats being snooty divas. Who can blame them when Greek, Roman, and Slavic mythology revered cats as gods and goddesses? When ancient Egypt held them sacred, and a violation against them was met with capital punishment? These creatures have royal roots, and something about their whole demeanor tells us that they’re pretty much aware of that. These furry beings have a way of knowing when they’re not being treated like royalty. Do you? There are things you do, most probably inadvertently, that make cats feel undervalued – and these things you do make your cat dislike you a little each day.
15. Neglecting Good Grooming
A common misconception about cats is that they can groom themselves just by licking their bodies. While that is not exactly false, the extent to which they can groom themselves is important to understand. Cats use their tongue, teeth, and forepaws to clean themselves, but that kind of grooming is not enough. It is important to check their fur and ears for mites, fleas, lice, or any other inhabitants. Their claws must be trimmed regularly, lest you be punished with scratched furniture or, horrors, face!
